I am sure most of you are already aware.
Sarah passed away on the 10th of June after a diving accident in Fish Rock Cave at South West Rock on the northern NSW coast.
Her funeral was held on the 2nd July at North Suburbs Crematorium and was attended by more than 300 people from her sailing, work, university, school and general life backgrounds. Her school friend, Sarah Devereux, gave and wonderful speech about her early years. I gave a heart felt speech about our 14 year together.
A wake was held at Royal Sydney Yacht Squadron afterwards, attended by even more. A picture and video display was prepared celebrating her life. The party went well into the night, even if I crashed at 8:30, and champagne flowed at double the rate of any other beverage.
Wine-Dark Sea will continue to cruise and I will endeavor to continue the blog. I writing style may not be as polished but I will try.

our wonderful daughter who we will no longer see. heard so many wonderful stories of her life at work and at play. Just so glad we could make it to her funeral and so glad we were able to share a great christmas together. You will live on in our hearts forever.

I had the pleasure of working with Sarah many years ago. She took the whole team sailing around Sydney Harbour, it was an amazing day. We shared many fun, happy outings in the years to follow and I will always remember Sarah as one of those happy, bubbly friends you always enjoy catching up with. I still can’t quite believe she is no longer with us – great memories with a wonderful friend will always remain, her love of cats, good coffee and wine I’m sure made us kindred spirits. Sending much love to Sarah’s wonderful parents and partner.

So sorry to learn about this today! Sarah was a student on my Weather for Sailing course at the CCE back a few years ago. I was fortunate enough to catch up with her on Wine Dark Sea for a few beers and have always noted her from my balcony. Sarah was a wonderful person, serious about sailing and the fun that goes with it.
